Hi everybody, welcome to Orange Hatter.
Tali:Today you'll be listening to part four of my conversation with Sanjana.
Sanjna:So, yeah, so that's what the app is.
Sanjna:We, we have this byte section where we also get, where users
Sanjna:get access to exclusive content.
Sanjna:So it's more about news and narratives and things that are going on, more relevant
Sanjna:to financial news or Bitcoin news or, or what's going on in that space now.
Sanjna:We also do, like, live Bitcoin classes.
Sanjna:And, and, and it's fun.
Sanjna:It's gamified.
Sanjna:So right now people, users start with two hearts.
Sanjna:So if you lose a life, you get locked out of the app, and then
Sanjna:you can get unlimited hearts.
Sanjna:So it is really fun.
Sanjna:It's just like, it's like learning for this generation.
Sanjna:It's, it's an addictive app, I would say.
Sanjna:But yeah, that's the gist of it.
Sanjna:And we have so many plans to, to grow it in different languages, to add more
Sanjna:development and gamification features.
Sanjna:And we have a lot of, yeah, we have a lot of plans.
Sanjna:It's, it's less than a year old already, so we're pretty happy
Sanjna:with where we are right now.
Sanjna:But we, we feel like we could take this a long way.
Tali:What has the reception been, especially when we're talking
Tali:about reaching women specifically?
Sanjna:So I'll talk about the reception in general, first.
Sanjna:We are not doing any paid advertising or any of that, now.
Sanjna:We're just, we're a bootstrapped company.
Sanjna:Eventually we'll be looking at fundraising and all of that, but
Sanjna:we're, we're obviously keeping the budgets a little limited.
Sanjna:But with what we've done organically, we've done phenomenally well.
Sanjna:I think we have over 4,000 users now, and we just went live about two months ago.
Sanjna:So, I think that's the greatest part about Bitcoin, is that you will get
Sanjna:such a passionate group of users and such a passionate community that we see
Sanjna:ourselves as an orange pilling tool.
Sanjna:Right?
Sanjna:So these people just...
Sanjna:without even incentives...
Sanjna:like, we, okay, we offer a referral code and all of that.
Sanjna:You get sats when you refer someone, but they so passionately will get
Sanjna:like 50 of their friends and family on board, just 'cause they think it's like
Sanjna:an eye-opener, and they want people to understand this and learn this.
Sanjna:So I think getting the traction is...
Sanjna:it has been great so far.
Sanjna:Definitely we're seeing good numbers.
Sanjna:I think on the aspect of women, it's definitely a little more difficult.
Sanjna:I do...
Sanjna:I am trying to make more of an effort to actively reach out to more women,
Sanjna:to find these women who maybe are not super interested in Bitcoin or who
Sanjna:are, but who are at least interested in taking a hold of their financial lives.
Sanjna:'Cause I think that's 90% of the women today.
Sanjna:Right?
Sanjna:I think there's so many more women working today.
Sanjna:They wanna know what to do with their savings, how to control their money.
Sanjna:So, I think it's, it's very hard to introduce Bitcoin to someone
Sanjna:who's never heard about it before.
Sanjna:That that is always a challenge.
Sanjna:'Cause again, I went through this, and for a year I was like, I don't care.
Sanjna:You know?
Sanjna:So I think that's where a lot of women are today, and I think it is
Sanjna:a challenge getting them on board.
Sanjna:But it is my personal mission to get more women into Bitcoin.
Sanjna:And not necessarily even use the app, just understand what Bitcoin is, because
Sanjna:it will make such a big difference to their lives when they, when they are
Sanjna:actually the more passionate group of people who wanna take a, take control
Sanjna:of their financial lives, right?
Sanjna:Like, men have been doing it.
Sanjna:They, they, they somehow just are known to understand economics and finance
Sanjna:better, but women just wanna know how to save and invest their money.
Sanjna:And it's amazing.
Sanjna:You'll see, you'll see so much more, so many more women coming to these
Sanjna:talks or, or starting businesses in the section, or just women-only startups in
Sanjna:financial literacy in general, you know?
Sanjna:So I, I think it's more of a challenge, but it's, it's, it's
Sanjna:also more of a fun challenge.
Sanjna:It's something that I definitely wanna pursue.
Sanjna:It's one of those target groups that I just wanna reach out to
Sanjna:and get into, and, and that again, just comes from orange pilling.
Sanjna:I feel like if you have those two or three women and...
Sanjna:on, on your app, like I, I have one, I have one girl I spoke
Sanjna:to last week from Venezuela.
Sanjna:And she's just so interested in the app and in Bitcoin, and she's like, I will
Sanjna:happily just host an event with 200 people I know and talk about Bitcoin.
Sanjna:You know?
Sanjna:And that, that passion is, that fire is in women.
Sanjna:It really is in women.
Sanjna:Because they will do it without the incentive.
Sanjna:They will do it without that reward.
Sanjna:Like, I, I wanna teach people about it and I, I don't care...
Sanjna:like, I don't, I don't wanna get paid for it, or I don't
Sanjna:want some kind of incentive.
Sanjna:I just, I just want more women to understand what it is because
Sanjna:it's just such a great tool.
Tali:Yeah.
Tali:I kind of compare it to like, when, when I find, when I find that some
Tali:store is having a wonderful sale, I'll be like, hey, guess what I heard?
Tali:There's a, there's a sale at this store, and you can get these amazing deals!
Tali:Look at this dress I got for like 75% off!
Tali:Kind of like that.
Tali:Like, we just...
Sanjna:That's such a good comparison.
Sanjna:Yeah, yeah.
Tali:We just have, and we're not, we're not telling our girlfriends
Tali:because we want a commission.
Tali:We're just telling our girlfriends because we're excited!
Sanjna:Yeah, 'cause we're so excited!
Sanjna:Right.
Sanjna:That, that's true.
Sanjna:That's, that's such a good comparison actually.
Sanjna:That's, we, we we're just so enthusiastic, you know, we want everyone on board.
Tali:Exactly.
Tali:Exactly.
Tali:So let's get into more women specific issues.
Tali:So if they come to your app, right, and they're just kind of curious...
Tali:where...
Tali:I've gone through chapter one, so I, I understand the, the
Tali:sort of bite-sized education.
Tali:Do you then, if they learn it and they're, they become curious,
Tali:because your information is more bite-sized, you almost need more
Tali:of a context around the concepts...
Tali:like the sort of, a real-life application kind of thing.
Tali:So where would you tell them to go, once they get onto your app, they do
Tali:chapter one, and they become intrigued?
Sanjna:So I think that's where we're gonna be introducing
Sanjna:this personalized experience.
Sanjna:We don't have that on the app yet, but eventually we want
Sanjna:users to create an account.
Sanjna:They go through the onboarding screens, and those onboarding screens will allow
Sanjna:them to answer a few questions, where they'll be able to say, okay, I, I'm a...
Sanjna:I'm a beginner in Bitcoin, or I know 95% of Bitcoin, I, this is what I
Sanjna:wanna learn, or, I'm learning because I wanna invest, or I'm learning
Sanjna:because I wanna get a job in Bitcoin.
Sanjna:So these are all plans on our roadmap that we wanna eventually implement.
Sanjna:But it's funny, because we have 400 classes on the
Sanjna:free part of our app, right?
Sanjna:And you would think that, okay, in, in, in a two minute class,
Sanjna:how much can you really cover?
Sanjna:But we're covering so much, and we're really getting into the nuances of
Sanjna:Bitcoin and financial literacy that we've had users come up to us and tell us...
Sanjna:and compare us to UC Berkeley courses or Coursera or these, these courses
Sanjna:that you're paying thousands of bucks for, and you're not learning anything.
Sanjna:So I think we're able to really capture all the content beginning...
Sanjna:like from A to Z and really get a beginner to an an, an advanced.
Sanjna:But I don't think that Bitcoin education ever stops, right?
Sanjna:Like, yes, you can learn about all the fundamentals,
Sanjna:understand the theory, whatever.
Sanjna:There's, there's mining, there's environmental, there's human
Sanjna:rights, there's all of that, but there's always the next step.
Sanjna:So that's kind of what we introduce in the byte section
Sanjna:where we're discussing narratives.
Sanjna:And that's where we, you become more of a community.
Sanjna:So we're quite active on our Telegram group and these live
Sanjna:Bitcoin classes that we just started.
Sanjna:But when people come onto these platforms, they actually get to
Sanjna:know each other and they like that sense of a Bitcoin community.
Sanjna:And I think that's our next step.
Sanjna:And that's what we're going towards, right?
Sanjna:We're, we're trying to orange pill the whole world, but
Sanjna:we're getting people together.
Sanjna:We're creating this, this social Bitcoin community, and there's a lot of different
Sanjna:ways we could go with this, right?
Sanjna:If, if people are more interested in the investing aspect, we could eventually lead
Sanjna:them to a platform or an inbuilt platform.
Sanjna:We could have our own wallet.
Sanjna:So I think business-wise, there's a lot to do, but it's, it's also very dependent
Sanjna:on where the Bitcoin landscape goes.
Sanjna:Because it's so different in each country with regulations, we're not
Sanjna:trying to advise people and tell people "this is how you invest, and this
Sanjna:is how you do it in your country."
Sanjna:We really want people to just learn Bitcoin, and like I
Sanjna:said, there's no end to this.
Sanjna:You can keep, you can keep going on.
Sanjna:There's so much material and there's so much education and it's one of
Sanjna:those things that's so new and it's always developing, so there's always
Sanjna:gonna be more to learn about Bitcoin.
Sanjna:But for now, at what stage our app is right now, I would say that you complete
Sanjna:all of the, all of the modules and chapters on the free part of the app,
Sanjna:and then you go into the byte section.
Sanjna:And that's where you get really deep into Bitcoin discussions.
Sanjna:We share resources.
Sanjna:We're trying to get experts in the field to talk, so that's when we're,
Sanjna:like, taking everything to a whole new level and, and creating this community
Sanjna:and, and getting everyone into this...
Sanjna:yeah, into this bitcoin social networking kind of, kind of thing.
Tali:I love that vision.
Tali:And thank you for explaining the journey, because I know that I am
Tali:simultaneously short on time, but also want like a quick understanding
Tali:of everything at the same time.
Tali:So would you say...
Tali:if...
Tali:to someone who's just coming across your app to be patient?
Tali:And just trust that you will take them all the way to where they wanna go?
Sanjna:Yeah, for sure.
Sanjna:Um, and, and there's a lot of enthusiastic users who've gone through all the content
Sanjna:in our, on our app, you know, in a month.
Sanjna:And they're like, okay, what's next?
Sanjna:But for the majority, I would still say that there is enough content there.
Sanjna:So make your way through it.
Sanjna:Really take your time to understand a class.
Sanjna:One class is two minutes.
Sanjna:So just, once you understand the fundamentals, you'll be able to understand
Sanjna:so much more of what's going on.
Sanjna:You, even when you read the financial news tomorrow, just 'cause you know
Sanjna:the, the fundamentals of Bitcoin, you'll be able to understand that better.
Sanjna:Then there's no end.
Sanjna:Then there's just so much you can get into in financial literacy in general.
Sanjna:So definitely trust us to take you through the whole journey.
Sanjna:There's a lot more content coming.
Sanjna:And yeah, we're not gonna stop.
Sanjna:We're gonna keep educating.
Sanjna:So we're, we're very excited about it.
Tali:That's so awesome.
Tali:I can't wait to dig into it myself.
Tali:One last question.
Tali:What would you recommend to someone who's still sitting on the fence
Tali:after listening to all of this?
Sanjna:I would say that just be open, and just be a little passionate
Sanjna:about learning something new.
Sanjna:I understand that something like Bitcoin can be very overwhelming.
Sanjna:I think most of us have been there.
Sanjna:It's a very different journey for men and women.
Sanjna:I think for men, they get so excited about the hype of cryptocurrencies and how
Sanjna:much money you can make in a day and sell your, you know, your token, your currency
Sanjna:the next day, and just make, like...
Sanjna:10 x your money.
Sanjna:But I, that, that's not how we look at Bitcoin.
Sanjna:You know, try to just understand that Bitcoin is really more than an investment.
Sanjna:It's a form of money.
Sanjna:It's a financial empowerment tool.
Sanjna:It's the solution to a lot of what we're...
Sanjna:a lot of the financial issues we're facing today.
Sanjna:Yeah.
Sanjna:And just, you know, go onto our app.
Sanjna:Just do that, that one, or...
Sanjna:those one or two modules or chapters on, on the basics of Bitcoin.
Sanjna:And I promise you, you, you'll be interested.
Sanjna:It's, it's too...
Sanjna:it's, it's, it's amazing.
Sanjna:It's, it's, it's not something you can just ignore, and it's not something where
Sanjna:we present the content in a dry way.
Sanjna:Because we know that a lot of people getting into this space, they're
Sanjna:just bored, and they're just like...
Sanjna:the language is just too difficult or something, you know?
Sanjna:So we really try to simplify the language, make it fun, make it easy.
Sanjna:And just, yeah, and just trust that there's a better solution
Sanjna:to what's going on today.
Sanjna:'Cause I, I, I don't think people are this ignorant and this unaware of what's
Sanjna:going on in, in the financial world.
Sanjna:I, I, I think whatever country you're from and whatever society you're from,
Sanjna:there's all countries have issues.
Sanjna:And I cannot emphasize that Bitcoin can be a solution.
Sanjna:So just, just, take those...
Sanjna:take a week to just try to learn about it, and you will want to go down the rabbit
Sanjna:hole and just learn A to Z, for sure.
Tali:That's awesome.
Tali:Thank you so much for joining us today.
Tali:Thanks for joining us today and learning with us today.
